September: We are very pleased to announce the grand-opening of our new Laboratory "Human Rett Syndrome Brain Bio-Repository Laboratory" located at JBRC part of Children's Hospital Research Institute of manitoba (CHRIM). Establishment of this new lab has been supported by Private Donations from Rett Syndrome Parents, Ontario Rett Syndrome Association (ORSA), and CHRIM. Rett Syndrome parents from British Columbia, Ontario, and Manitoba, as well as ORSA President (Kevin Morton) were among the attendees at this event.

August: We are pleased to announce the publication of our new study on the Sex- and strain-dependant deregulatory effect of alcohol on differentiated neural stem cells published in the Journal Molecular Neurobiology. This paper is entitled: "Chronic Ethanol Exposure Alters DNA Methylation in Neural Stem Cells: Role of Mouse Strain and Sex." and reports that the respond of DNA methylation machinery to the deregulatory effect of alcohol is sex-dependant.

July: We are pleased to announce the publication of our new study on the impact of Simvastatin on different types of medulloblastoma brain tumour cells in the Journal Cancers. This paper is entitled: "Simvastatin induces apoptosis in medulloblastoma brain tumor cells via mevalonate cascade prenylation substrates." and reports differential impact of different types of medulloblastoma brain tumour cells to Simvastatin. The studies have important implication for Simvastatin drug repurposing.
April: It is a pleasure to announce the publication of our new study on the role of DNA methylation in Mecp2 isoform-specific expression in the brain cells. This study is entitled: "DNA methylation contributes to the differential expression levels of Mecp2 in male mice neurons and astrocytes" and is published in International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

- We are pleased to announce the publication of our new study on the deregulatory effect of alcohol on neural stem cells published in Scientific Reports. This paper is entitled: "Genome-wide transcriptome landscape of embryonic brain-derived neural stem cells exposed to alcohol with strain-specific cross-examination in BL6 and CD1 mice." and reports the results of transcript profiling of brain-derived neural stem cells under different ethanol conditions with a detailed cross-strain analysis of selected identified genes, Mecp2/MeCP2, and DNA methylation-related genes.
